Ya'llllllllll. . . I did it again!
Yes, once again I took my hands and magically created another darn good cake. I honestly don't know how I do it. I'm no professional baker, but I'm super proud of my baby cakes.
This lovely lady is my chocolate espresso cake layered with strawberry meringue butter cream.
I decided to take the plunge and create a chocolate cake despite the fact that I generally despise them. But I figured the strawberry-ness I placed on it would work in it's favor.
Boy was I right! The most difficult and time consuming part of creating this cake was the frosting. It's starts off as a regular meringue and then incorporates butter into the meringue slowly, creating a soft and silky finish.
Moist? Yes! Flavorful? YAS! Picture worthy? ALL DAY!
I got the recipe for this cake from my newest obsession - sweetapolita.com. This site is absolutely AMAZING and has tons of recipes and tutorials to help along in the baking process.
Ya'll box cake people can miss me with that stuff. I see the light and I'm not turning back. I'm on another level <3
Let's see if I can harness this new found love into some cookies!
