natural GLO

For as long as I could understand what pimples were, I have been a fan of skincare.  As a beauty enthusiast I have made it a priority in my life to do the best I could for my skin, with an emphasis on the health of my facial skin.  
As I have gotten older I have found that my skin has not been responding positively to my usual products and routines -  I knew I needed a change.
In collaboration with Emily Saker, owner of Glo Aesthetics located in the Heathrow/ Lake Mary area, I tackled my current skin concerns with my first microdermabrasion.

Emily is a licensed Medical Aesthetician that has 8 years of experience improving the skin of her clients. Having experienced acne concerns as a teen, Emily feel in love with skin improvement and officially launched her own company dedicated to doing just that in February of this year.
Glo Aesthetics is located in an amazing full service salon collective called Port Noir that houses hair stylists, nail technicians, makeup artists and more. The beauty of the location itself was breathtaking. Emily's personal location also did not disappoint.

Going into the treatment my most recent pressing concern was the issue of hyperpirgmentation. As a darker skinned woman I was concerned that the treatment would create discoloring or prove to be too intense for my skin type. Emily was the best at addressing all of my concerns and highlighted that her instruments were specifically chosen to treat all skin types and tones. Sweet!
My wet microdermabrasion treatment was done using the Bio-Brasin Trinity system that lightly buffs and suctions aways the the dead skin cells on the face revealing softer, smoother skin underneath. The process was painless and didn't leave my skin irritated, which was great.
In addition to microdermabrasion serivces Glo Aethseitcs also offers micro-needling, chemical peels, LED light treatments, stretch mark removal and more. I personally purchased the IMAGE Prevention Plus Matte Daily Moisturizer with SPF after chatting with Emily about my hyperpigmentation issues further. Lesson learned for my brown girls - we need SPF! Hyperpigmentation can be combated by shielding your skin from the sun with a good SPF moisturizer. 

 This is just a testament to how amazing she is! She provided a solution to my skin concerns with both the procedure and detailed follow up.

The photos you see of my face are ones taken three days after my treatment. ( I used only a tinted moisturizer in combination with my IMAGE matte moisturizer all over as my base). My skin looks and feels so soft!  Directly after the treatment I literally had my mom and dad rubbing my face to feel how transformative the treatment was for me.
